They say that lightning never strikes the same place twice, but for Zach Jacobs, that just isn’t true. It’s hard enough being seventeen-- juggling school, football, friends, and teenage romance-- but Zach’s about to find out just how complicated it can get when he begins to suspect that maybe he was the lightning. Teenage woes hardly seem significant when you’ve got lightning shooting from your fingertips and a couple of murderous Titans trying to settle an ancient score.

Olympia Heights The Pantheon is the first of four books in the Olympia Heights series.

Olympia Heights The Pantheon eBook Amy Leigh Strickland

Greek Mythology was a modern twist. I LOVED IT!

The author hit the nail on the head with book 1. I didn't want to put this down.

The author describes the gods and goddess in a way we can relate to. The knowledge of each one is most impressive. I was busting at the seams waiting to see what hspoens next!

When a book makes you laugh out loud, scream with excitement and bite your nails because you're nervous what will happen next; That's a best selling book!

Olympia Heights The Pantheon eBook Amy Leigh Strickland Reviews

As someone with a bachelor's degree in Classics, and an aspiring writer of fantastical fiction, I have always enjoyed stories that have rich, deep mythologies behind them. The Olympia Heights book series continues the rich tradition of some of the modern young adult books that have captivated my attention over the past few years, to include Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. Although the writing could use a bit of polish in terms of some minor spelling and grammatical errors, the author does a fantastic job in this book of introducing a rather large cast (16 principal protagonists) without making it too confusing (and as you read the series, it becomes clearer who everyone is as their personalities are fleshed out). I highly recommend taking the time to read through this series, and I hope that you develop strong attachments in the same way that I did to some of these incredibly written characters.
it was a good read. could been more in-depth, but a good distraction read. oIl like the stories that reimangine myth. This is not Percy Jackson, but it's good for older audiences.
This book is awesome. I love Greek mythology, but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. There are many stories and they all seem to overlap. This book makes Greek mythology accessible and fun. Each character is developed gradually, so that by the time you get to know everyone, you are like, "Oh, that makes sense now!" There is action, mystery, romance, intrigue--I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a fun read. Reminiscent of the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, Ms. Strickland has made Greek mythology her own in this book. I can't wait to finish the next one!
This was a fun read and reminded me of how much I loved the Greek and Roman mythology when I was a kid. The Pantheon is a refreshing way to take familiar characters and make them feel interesting, again. The author is clearly well read with the original myths, but takes interesting liberties when weaving in allusions and references. This pantheon is a new incarnation of the original gods. They have been raised as mortals in a modern world, so of course there will be deviations from the myths. I had a lot of fun with this. I would call it great "beach reading" for adults and a great way to make the gods of the original myths seem more relatable for younger readers who are interested in the classics or might be struggling with them.
good read
It was a fine read, nothing special though. If it was going to be a TV show this book would be a 1st episode only - the one that shows you all important characters and a little bit of might-be plot.
Only the actual plot was there... in about last 10-15% of the book everything happened and then, all of a sudden, it was all done. With all that writing about characters I didn't manage to attach myself to any of them or even start to like them. The whole book just passed me by.
Oh my goodness, this is an amazing book. If you like Greek Mythology, like I do, this is a must read. Strickland wonderfully incorporates the Greek gods into the modern world, as well as the personalities of their reincarnations.

I have to admit that when I first got this book I was a bit worried that it would just be a Percy Jackson spin off. However, Strickland quickly erased that fear. Despite having the same source material, this book is very unique and creates its own world. And I absolutely love the quotes and poems at the beginning of each chapter. It gives you little hints as to which god or goddess will be the center of the chapter.

One of my favorite parts is the characters themselves. Strickland gives them new twists that make perfect sense while still staying a surprise. I also love the conflict within and between the characters. Are the acts that they did in Ancient Greece still theirs, or are they new people?

All in all, I loved this book, and you should definitely read it!
